In my last blog I talked briefly about the importance of wisdom. Acquiring wisdom is at the same time easier than acquiring knowledge and skills and it is also more difficult. Let me explain. Knowledge and skills can be acquired by hard work, but depending on the subject, it may also require a foundation of intellect, intelligence, and education.

Wisdom, on the other hand, does not require intellect, intelligence, and education. All of us know people that are very wise even though they may not be the smartest person that we know or have a great deal of education. But acquiring wisdom does not come solely from hard work. It must come from someone that is wiser than we are. It requires humility in accepting a perspective that may be different from what we have previously held. It requires replacing short term trophies for long term success. And it requires an understanding of the thoughts and motivations of a person’s heart.

At Perceptive Business Strategies we always look to let wisdom guide our projects so we make recommendations that really work for our customers.
